- In accordance with the tariff agreement / on the basis of the doctor’s Spitex prescription.
- The difference between the standard costs and the insurers’ contribution is borne by the entitled person and their municipality of residence. The patient contribution is 20 % of the insurer’s contribution, but no more than the difference. In addition, the patient contribution is capped at CHF 15.95 per day. As with all services covered by basic insurance, your health insurer’s deductible (franchise) and co-payment (Selbstbehalt) also apply. Children and young people under 18 pay no patient contribution.
- A minimum of 10 minutes is charged per visit; after that, billing is in units of 5 minutes.
- For services outside the Health Insurance Act (KVG), no travel charges or other handling fees are invoiced.
- Services not recognised by health insurance are only taken on after prior agreement with everyone involved.

How much does Spitex cost in the Canton of Schwyz?
The hourly rates: CHF 52.60 for basic care, CHF 63.00 for examinations and treatment and CHF 76.90 for needs assessment and advice. Household care costs CHF 44.00 per hour when paid privately; 12 h or 24 h presence and care is available on request.
You pay the patient contribution as well as your health insurer’s deductible (franchise) and co-payment (Selbstbehalt).
