Who it is for
So that you can live well at home.
Companionship is for people who want to live at home and need support and a familiar face in everyday life – and for relatives who want to know their loved ones are well looked after.
-
Older people
When everyday life takes more strength and you would like company and a helping hand.
-
Relatives
When you want to know that your mother, father or partner is in good hands.
-
In your language
We aim to provide nursing care and support in your mother tongue – our team speaks many languages.
-
For peace of mind
When it helps to have someone drop by regularly and check that all is well.
What it includes
Support that makes everyday life easier.
We support you kindly with the activities of daily living. With relationship-centred care, the person is at the heart of everything we do – this is how we honour your wish to live at home independently and on your own terms.

What companionship can look like, for example:
- Company, conversation and a listening ear
- Support through the day and help with planning your daily routine
- Encouragement to stay active and to do things you enjoy
- Support with everyday tasks – coordinated with nursing care and household help
- Presence over several hours – or 12- or 24-hour presence on request
We discuss what suits you during the needs assessment. We do not offer a transport service – but we are happy to give you the relevant addresses.

Costs & health insurance
What does companionship at home cost?
The costs depend on what support you need and how often. We discuss everything with you in advance – we only take on services that are not recognised by health insurance after prior agreement with everyone involved.
Health insurers pay for nursing and support measures, provided they are recognised by the insurers. Whether supplementary insurance covers further services is set out in your supplementary insurance policy.
Costs
By arrangement – transparent
- Discussed in advance. We agree the scope and costs with you before your care begins.
- No travel charges. For services outside the Health Insurance Act, we do not charge any travel or handling fees.
- One invoice a month. In the second half of the month at the latest, always for the previous month.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about companionship
How much does companionship at home cost?
That depends on the type and scope of support. We discuss the costs with you before your care begins. For services outside the Health Insurance Act, we do not charge any travel or handling fees.
Does health insurance pay for companionship?
Health insurers pay for nursing and support measures, provided they are recognised by the insurers. We discuss anything that is not covered by insurance with you in advance.
Is support in my mother tongue possible?
We aim to provide nursing care and support in your mother tongue – our team speaks many languages. When you send your request, let us know which language matters to you.
Will I always be cared for by the same person?
We try to send the same carers to the same place whenever possible. Because our staff work part-time and are sometimes away on holiday, at training or ill, this is not always possible.
If you only need help around the home at regular intervals, planning for the same staff member is usually feasible.
Which services do I have to pay for myself?
All services that are not covered by insurance. Before that happens, we discuss everything with you in advance: we only take on services that are not recognised by health insurance after prior agreement with everyone involved.
For services outside the Health Insurance Act, we do not invoice any travel charges or other handling fees.
For nursing services covered by basic insurance, you pay a patient contribution in addition to your deductible (franchise) and co-payment (Selbstbehalt); children and young people under 18 are exempt. The amount is set by the canton – you will find it on our prices page.
What if something else comes up at short notice at the time of a visit?
Please contact our scheduling team as soon as possible so that we can discuss the situation. We will try to find a solution.
As a rule, a planned visit must be cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance. In exceptional cases, special arrangements can be made. Visits that are not cancelled will be charged.
